COEEF

Children of Ethiopia Education Fund
Our Mission:

The Children of Ethiopia Education Fund exists to empower young girls in Ethiopia from impoverished circumstances with a quality, private education through generous sponsors and donors.

Create a strong foundation for students in Ethiopia by sponsoring a girl in the COEEF girls education program. The gift you give a student in this program is something that cannot be taken away once given. This gift enables students to become empowered to make a difference for themselves, their families and their country. Help COEEF in giving these girls the tools to succeed and make a positive change.

If you are interested in sponsoring a student for the 2012-2013 school year, please let us know!

Recent Time Article Shows Value of COEEF Program
To Fight Poverty, Invest in Girls

"In sub-Saharan Africa, fewer than 1 in 5 girls make it to secondary school.
Nearly half are married by the time they are 18.
1 in 7 across the developing world marries before she is 15.
Then she gets pregnant.
The leading cause of death for girls 15 to 19 worldwide is not accident or violence or disease; it is complications from pregnancy.
Girls under 15 are up to five times as likely to die while having children than are women in their 20s,
and their babies are more likely to die as well." Nancy Gibbs
